Based in our cozy studio in Peebles, we keep our class sizes small so you receive the guidance and attention you deserve. From complete beginners taking their first spin on the wheel to those looking to develop their skills further, we'll help you create pieces you're proud of.

What We Offer

This 2-hour throwing class is the perfect introduction to the magic of the potter's wheel.
Your Experience: In this hands-on session, you'll learn the essential skills of preparing clay and centering before creating approximately 3 pieces on the wheel. Don't worry about the finishing touches—after class, we'll expertly trim, glaze, and fire your creations so they're ready to collect as beautiful, functional pieces.
This is your chance to try something new, unwind, and leave with handmade pottery to use and treasure.
What's Included: All materials, trimming, glazing, and firing. Aprons provided.
What to Wear: Comfortable old clothes you don't mind getting clay on. Please remove all hand and wrist jewellery and keep nails trimmed short.
Class Details: This class runs on Saturday morning (10am-12pm) or afternoon (1pm-3pm). Sessions are limited to 3 people.
Booking: Full payment required upfront. This class is non-refundable, however; we’re happy to reschedule your appointment providing we’re given at least 7 days’ notice.

Ready to get your hands dirty? Join our 4-week throwing course and unlock the joy of working on the potter's wheel.
Your Creative Journey:
Week 1: Learn the satisfying art of preparing and centering clay, then watch your first simple shapes come to life on the wheel.
Week 2: Build your confidence as you tackle more complex pieces and develop your throwing technique.
Week 3: Master the art of trimming and transforming your pieces into polished works.
Week 4: Add your personal touch with decoration and glazing techniques that will make your creations truly unique.By the end of the course, you'll have crafted approximately 6 finished pieces to treasure or gift.
With only 3 students per session, you'll enjoy plenty of one-on-one guidance in our cozy studio. All clay, firing, and glaze costs are included.Classes run weekly, 6pm-8pm.
Suitable for ages 10+
Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adultCome Prepared: Wear comfortable old clothes (we provide aprons), remove hand and wrist jewellery, and keep nails trimmed short for the best experience.
Commitment & Booking: Full payment is required upfront and a commitment to attend all four sessions. While payment is non-refundable, we'll happily transfer you to another course with 7 days' notice.

Join our intimate 4-week hand building course and discover the techniques of creating beautiful ceramics by hand. Perfect for complete beginners, so no prior experience is necessary.
Your Creative Journey: Weeks 1-3: Immerse yourself in the fundamentals of hand building as you explore three core techniques—slab building, coiling, and pinching. You'll create a variety of unique pieces while developing your skills and finding your creative style.
Week 4: Bring your creations to life with decoration and glazing techniques that will make each piece uniquely yours.By the end of the course, you'll have crafted approximately 3-4 finished pieces to treasure or gift.
